Square Peg, Round Hole

For the square peg in a round hole challenge at Squigglefly, I chose Tea Roses which can be purchased here:   http://www.squigglefly.com/index.php/shop/tea-roses
It’s a A2 card size just folded and cut within the Nestability shown in the 2nd picture.  I often do this and keep the folded edge of the card inside the template so it doesn’t cut my card in two.  I used a white card and "xyronned"  the image to the front and distress the edge of the nestability with Wild Honey Distress Ink.  Very subtle.  I also used a starlight clear sparkly gel pen on the flower pets edges and the edges of the dish.

I am also a square peg in a round hole - or at least it feels that way most times!

For this Squigglefly challenge, we were to "case" a DT member and I cased my mom, Linda Weber. She and I have done lots of different color combinations with this image. Since my nickname is Queen Bee, I use it alot!

Queen BeeArtist: Suzanne Urban

I'm having fun with my new copics! I love to color - my sister and I and my mom all like to color. I bought a new BIG box of crayons at Christmas time for the grandkids - er- ok, me. Anyway, my nickname is Queen Bee. Someone called me that more than 15 years ago in a derogatory way but a friend of mine turned it into a funny nickname. And it is descriptive of me I admit it. Someone has to be the Queen Bee! This is a great Squigglefly image!

Here is the link to the challenge I entered this into (thanks mom for reminding me!)

Another card that I made tonight with a Squigglefly image. You can't see it, but I used a gel glitter pen in "Stars" in the windows, on the smoke coming out the chimney and on the maple leaves to give a little sparkle. A ribbon, some brads, copics and ink. I'll be using this at the Pioneer Log Village as a thank you card.

Scrapbooking project this weekend

Well, we had a fun weekend - all girls - and my granddaughter finished her scrapbook album that she plans to exhibit at the fair next month. Also made herself a hat! :) Boy, can she talk!

I also went outside my box and did a card - a pop up card no less. Not fancy, but ok for my first one, right?

Today at the Village

Today, I spent the wonderful warm day at the Village with my buddy Barb. We washed and stained the church floor, dragged out a huge water damaged bookshelf and then Barb worked out some of her frustration by demolishing the huge thing with one of the artifacts - a very nice old sledge hammer type of thing. It was wonderful! What a diamond in the rough. There are wonderful books in the library from the Civil War era that I've only seen in the Historical society in Madison, all kinds of treasures tucked away in drawers. I even found a "family" in photographs and artifacts.....that will be a really fun exhibit to design. What a great day!
