Nesting sandhill cranes

Well, I was so blessed today to see a pair of nesting cranes in a marsh between Reedsburg and Lake Delton. They had at least two big eggs and turned them while I was watching. The frogs were singing and the cranes were talking to each other. I'll post some pictures.

  2. No way!!!!! Way!!!! How did you happen to spot them? They are my favorite bird - we often see flocks of them heading north in our pathway.

One year when we camped on the WI River we were awakened the next morning to a family grooming their young ones! Noisy! But oh so precious!

You are soo fortunate to see this! Thx for sharing!
